These terms govern your use of Pace, a walking-coach app for iPhone published by currentbits ("we", "us"). By downloading or using Pace, you agree to these terms.
Pace is a fitness and habit-building app. It reads your historical walking activity from Apple Health, calculates a personalized daily step target, adapts that target weekly based on your actual activity, and helps you track your walking consistency and weight trend.
Pace provides general fitness guidance. It is not medical advice. Pace is not a medical device and does not diagnose, treat, cure, or prevent any disease or medical condition. Always consult a qualified healthcare professional before changing your physical activity level, especially if you have a medical condition, are pregnant, or have been sedentary for an extended period. Never disregard professional medical advice because of anything shown in the app.
We do not guarantee weight loss or any specific health outcome. Pace does not claim that walking a particular number of steps will produce a particular result.
Any projections, goal dates, or trend estimates shown in the app are estimates based on your recent activity and recorded progress. They are illustrative calculations, not predictions, and they will vary as your activity and recorded weight change. Individual results depend on many factors outside the app's knowledge or control.
Pace offers auto-renewing subscriptions that unlock premium features (personalized and adaptive targets, Walk Bank, weekly reviews, projections, widgets, and smart reminders). A free tier is available with a generic fixed daily goal.
Payment is charged to your Apple ID account at confirmation of purchase (or at the end of the free trial). Subscriptions automatically renew unless you cancel at least 24 hours before the end of the current billing period. Your account is charged for renewal within 24 hours prior to the end of the current period at the same price unless we have notified you of a price change.
Managing and cancelling: You can manage or cancel your subscription at any time in your App Store account settings (Settings → your name → Subscriptions, on your iPhone). Cancellation takes effect at the end of the current billing period; you keep premium access until then. We do not provide refunds directly — refund requests are handled by Apple under Apple's policies.
Restore purchases: If you reinstall Pace or switch devices, use "Restore purchases" on the paywall to reactivate an existing subscription tied to your Apple ID.
Pace requires read access to Apple Health data (steps, distance, active energy, body mass, height) to provide its core features. Pace reads this data only; it does not write to Apple Health. You can revoke this permission at any time in iOS Settings, but doing so will limit the app's core functionality. Health data is processed on your device and is not transmitted to us. See our Privacy Policy for details.
You agree to use Pace only for its intended personal, non-commercial purpose. You may not:
Pace, including its design, branding, text, and software, is owned by currentbits and protected by intellectual-property laws. These terms give you a limited, non-exclusive, non-transferable license to use the app on your own devices. No ownership rights transfer to you.
Pace is provided "as is" and "as available", without warranties of any kind, express or implied, including fitness for a particular purpose. We do not warrant that the app will be uninterrupted, error-free, or that any estimate it shows will prove accurate.
To the maximum extent permitted by law, we are not liable for any indirect, incidental, or consequential damages, or for any health outcome, arising from your use of Pace. Our total liability for any claim relating to the app is limited to the amount you paid us for the subscription in the twelve months preceding the claim. Nothing in these terms limits liability that cannot be limited under applicable law, including mandatory consumer-protection rights in your country of residence.
We may update these terms from time to time. Material changes will be posted at this URL with an updated effective date. Continued use of the app after changes take effect constitutes acceptance.
