Pace is a walking coach for iPhone, published by currentbits. This policy explains what information Pace uses, where it lives, and the small number of services we work with. The short version: your health data stays on your phone, we don't have accounts, we don't show ads, and we never sell your data.
With your explicit permission, Pace reads the following from Apple Health:
Pace only reads this data. It never writes anything back to Apple Health.
We use this information for one purpose: to calculate your walking baseline, build your personalized daily and weekly step targets, and show your progress. That is the core feature of the app.
Your Apple Health data never leaves your iPhone. It is processed and stored locally on your device. It is not sent to us, to our analytics provider, or to anyone else.
Everything Pace stores — your profile answers, walking plan, daily activity, weight entries, and weekly summaries — is kept in an on-device database on your iPhone. Pace has no user accounts and no cloud sync of your health or activity data. There is nothing to sign in to and nothing stored on our servers about your walking or weight.
We use PostHog to understand how the app is used so we can improve it. PostHog receives product-usage events only — never health data. Events fall into these categories:
These events tell us that a feature was used, not the contents of your health data. An event like "weight logged" carries no weight value. Analytics events are associated with an anonymous, randomly generated identifier — not your name, email, or Apple ID.
Pace offers auto-renewing subscriptions. Purchases are processed by Apple through the App Store, and we use RevenueCat to manage subscription status. RevenueCat receives:
RevenueCat does not receive your health data, and payment details are handled entirely by Apple — we never see your card information.
Pace's reminders are local notifications, scheduled and delivered entirely on your device. Notification content (like how many steps you have left today) is computed on your phone and is not sent to any server.
Because your data lives on your device, deleting the Pace app deletes your data. Removing the app (and its data) from your iPhone erases your profile, plan, activity history, and weight entries. There is no server-side copy to request deletion of. You can also withdraw Apple Health access at any time in the iOS Settings or the Health app, and Pace will simply stop reading new data.
If you are in the EU/EEA, you have rights of access, rectification, erasure, restriction, portability, and objection regarding your personal data. In practice: your personal data is on your own device and under your control, and the easiest way to exercise erasure is to delete the app. For any question about the limited data held by our processors (PostHog analytics events, RevenueCat purchase records), contact us at the address below and we will help.
